Aircraft Engineer – Dorset – Permanent – Full time – Competitive

STR Group are pleased to consider applications for the position of Aircraft Engineer working for our Aerospace client based in Dorset on a Permanent basis.

In order to be considered you will need to have the following experience and qualifications:

The candidate must have an aviation apprenticeship background, must have Mechanical Engineering experience working in an Aircraft line or base maintenance facility, they must also can gain full UK security clearance is not already gained. The candidate must be a motivated team member and physically fit to take manual tasks around and on board the aircraft, also candidates will be medically fit for detachment

We are also looking for the following desirable skills but are not essential for the position; The candidate must have experience of service or commercial aircraft engineering/operations.

As an Aircraft Fitter you will operate at Special Mission in accordance with the SHE Technical standards. You will identify where the SHE Technical Standards are applicable to appointed tasks and apply safe systems of work identified. You will also be applying countermeasures identified in applicable risk assessment to appointed operations. You will be performing base maintenance and when required line maintenance on company and customer operated aircraft including servicing, inspections, modifications and defect rectification. Reporting to your LAE & SLAE you will need to work in an efficient and timely manner to meet task times. As and Aircraft Fitter you will have the control of any material or company equipment provided for the task in hand and the cleanliness of work. You must keep all base maintenance equipment in good condition and and make sure service dates are complied with. You must be willing and able to work at other operating bases when required and there is a possibility of shift patterns

This is a Full time Permanent position working 37 per week working in Dorset .
