Control Systems Sales Engineer

Do you want to work with some of the marine industry’s most iconic brands, to deliver state of the art, fully customized control systems? Including technology such as visual navigation aids to night vision cameras to controlling steering, and the electronics, you will work as a technical aide for a global leader in high-performance marine electronics products.

Working with the sales teams, Boat Builders, and Dealers in the EMEA region, you will contribute by assisting with system design and programming of digital control systems. You will get to see your projects through from inception to completion and have a significant impact on aesthetics and functionality the finished product.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

* Support your manager in consultations and customer visits across the EMEA territory
* Assist in proposal preparation
* Provide technical expertise to support sales efforts in dialogue with boat designers
* Influence customer requirements and translate high-level customer requirements into system requirements
* Liaison with customers to keep them informed of the progress of joined projects
* Provide advice for boat designers and product installers as well as corrective actions for design and installation faults
* Develop and implement machine control software based on Codesys control platforms
* Develop and implementation “Human-Machine Interface” (HMI)
* Some domestic and international travel may be involved.
* The role is based in Fareham, UK.

Key Skills/Experience:

* Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
* Solution orientation and resourcefulness.
* Proficient in programming Human-machine Interface (HTML) ,PLC:s (IEC 61131 and preferably Codesys
* Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
* Preferred education in electro-technology, control systems, electronics, or automation.
* A willingness to autonomously learn and research to solve complex technical problems.
* A track record of creative problem solving.

This position requires access to export-controlled information or items. Applicants must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce (ITAR/EAR US regulations).
