Lead DevOps Engineer

Lead DevOps Engineer – Luton – Up to £85k + 25% bonus + benefits

We are currently looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to work for a leading global travel organisation at their Luton office.

This role is pivotal to the strategy put in place to deliver value through enhancing the customer experience, improving operation efficiency and maximising the value from their product investment and customer interactions.

This individual will have a proven track record of having delivered and implemented automated analytics solutions at scale using a range of cloud-based technologies. They will work closely with the data science and analytics team as well as key partners (Amazon Web Services) to ensure maximum value from the latest technology.

This person will have a DevOps mindset and will be eager to take accountability both for the on-time delivery of great capability and the successful running of the platform in live as well as continual improvement.

This individual will support the Group Projects function, acting as a cross-market lead for development resource assigned to either CNG or OPA. They will be responsible for working with business users/Product Owners in an agile delivery process to understand requirements and provide solutions that meet time and quality expectations. They will create and maintain an optimal data pipeline infrastructure, and supporting applications, as well as building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.

Essential background/Skills:

* Experience in a Senior DevOps role
* Extensive AWS experience – Installing and optimising AWS products i.e. S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue, Kinesis, Security, Networking etc
* Experience in Terraform, Ansible and AWS CloudFormation scripting
* Experience in creating and managing CI/CD pipelines
* Experience of test automation and code quality tools
* Experience with Containerisation platforms – they are starting to implement this but are not at an end stage. Kubernates and Docker are desirable, acbut any containerisation experience is good.


* Experience in setting up and managing Pub/Sub systems like Kinesis
* Experience on development and monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Git (Bitbucket) and Jenkins
* Advantageous to have experience with Big Data (Hadoop ecosystems)
