Manufacturing/Test Engineer (RF) – Stockport – Permanent – £45,000-£55,000

A leading company in the RF Electronics space are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to assist with NPI for their range of Satellite Communication Products used for Television Distribution (with additional products for the Medical, Scientific & Aerospace industries).

The company is offering a highly competitive salary and benefits package, flexible working hours and a chance to travel to Manufacturing sites in Asia.

You will be responsible for providing all necessary technical support required to establish and sustain the manufacture of the company’s products, at any of the company’s or it’s partners manufacturing facilities worldwide.

This will include:
-Support the introduction of new products into manufacture.
-Provide all necessary documentation to the production facility.
-Identification and approval of materials and components, and of suitable alternatives.
-Design and fabrication of test equipment, jigs or fixtures required by production.
-Automation of test procedures using high level languages such as Labview
-Create documentation to completely describe manufacturing, assembly and test procedures.
-Provision of technical support as required in order to ensure continuity of production at the manufacturing facility
-New Product Introduction: Establishing production of new models and product variants. -Transferring the production of existing models from other facilities. Ensuring the manufacturing documentation provided to the factory is complete and accurate, including writing new assembly and test instructions.
-Manufacturing Test: Set-up and support of RF Automatic Test Equipment (ATE)
-The role is diverse, and in addition to the above may from time to time require involvement with any aspect of manufacturing, anything from component specification through to selection of packaging materials.

Experience Required:

This role will suit a Manufacturing Engineer with a broad background in the Production & NPI for RF Products.
If you have any Labview experience this would be beneficial but is not essential.

The positions requires travel to Asia to visit manufacturing partners sites. This travel is likely to be 2 weeks at a time and happen between 1 and 6 times per year. As the team grows there will be the opportunity to lessen or relinquish some of this travel if you wish.

Experience with electronics manufacturing and mass production, Printed Circuit Assemblies, SMT, Design for manufacture

Familiarity with RF test equipment, knowledge and ability to perform fundamental RF measurements such as Gain, Noise Figure, Linearity, Phase Noise etc.
