Mechanical Fitter

Mechanical Fitter, Fareham, £25k – £30k dependent upon experience.

A global organisation is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their successful and growing team on a permanent basis to work at their site in Whiteley. Working within a manufacturing environment the Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for the Mechanical assembly of the client’s products to strict standards.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for Mechanical Assembly from engineering drawings and ensuring product build times are kept within those budgeted by production.
The Mechanical Fitter will also report any quality failures to the Shop Supervisor and perform self-inspection checks during product build whilst ensuring documentation is complete and up to date..

To be considered for the opportunity candidates need to have proven experience working in a similar position within a production environment and as such have experience of mechanical assembly.
In addition to this, candidates must be able to understand and interpret engineering drawings and be able to use their initiative when it comes to methodology in order to ensure that deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.

It would be advantageous for candidates to hold a formal qualification i.e. Degree / HND / HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
It would also be advantageous if the successful candidate comes from a background such as; special purpose machinery, capital equipment, automation, production line equipment or packaging background.
This position may suit candidates who have previous experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Mechanical Technician, Mechanical Engineer, Production Fitter, Production Technician, Electro-Mechanical Assembler, Electro-Mechanical Fitter, Manufacturing Technician amongst other similar titles.

This position is commutable from Portsmouth, Fareham, Southampton, Chichester, Winchester, Petersfield and other areas within Hampshire and the South Coast.
