Stream Resourcing are working with an industry leading telecommunications company who offer turnkey global transmission systems, tailored to each individual customers needs. This is a well-established organisation who are flourishing in a prolonged period of sustained, organic growth and as a result, they are seeking an experienced Optical Test Engineer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

* Operating as an Optical Lead for electrical issues
* Provide technical support for the manufacturing of repeaters, sequencers, branching units, ROADM and other associated products
* Prioritise and resolve critical manufacturing issues within a reasonable time-frame
* Ensure that all instruments are calibrated, arranging for calibration whenever necessary
* Conducting data analysis activities to prove certain trends per contract, providing feedback
* Complete production technical requests in a timely manner
* Support other new product introductions as necessary
* Develop and maintain good communication lines with development engineers
* Make improvements to existing test stations
* Maintain a ‘lean and clean’ working environment with proper tooling and procuring tooling and necessary bits, as required
* Build, validate and commission test stations
* Develop and maintain technical documentations
* Ensure that test systems maintenance procedures are followed with proper paperwork and logbooks up to date
* To participate in analysis and debug of Field returns

Desired Skills/Experience

* Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Optics, Opto-electronics or equivalent
* Experience of debugging and fault finding of electrical/optical assemblies in a manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of optical components, optical measurements, optical instruments and basic optical principles
* Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and believing in Lean culture/working environment
* Experience in automated assembly and test measurement processes
* Experience in data analysis, graphs, histograms plotting etc
* Experience of high reliability product manufacture is ideal
* Ideal candidate will be a strong team player with good communication
* Experience in printed circuit board manufacturing dept
