Product Engineer (Automotive Interior Trim), Solihull, Competitive Salary

IAC, a global engineering company that has over 160 years of automotive interiors expertise, is looking for a Product Engineer to join their technically focused R&D centre, situated in Solihull, on a permanent basis.

Working within an automotive engineering environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for determining and driving the most appropriate design and engineering solution for their assigned commodities, as well as ensuring that all product specifications are satisfied. Such commodities may include Pillar Trims, Door Trims, Headliners, Load Space, Central Console or Instrumentation Panel.

Other responsibilities include: specifying engineering design to meet customer requirements and expectations, ensuring that solutions are robust, competitive, cost effective and repeatable, championing full lifecycle project ownership, incorporating Dimensional Engineering, DFM, DFA, FMEA’s, Value Engineering, Engineering for quality, Engineering change control, Test & validation and Product launch.

In order to be considered for this position, candidates need to have proven experience in delivering projects from cradle to grave within an automotive engineering environment. In addition to this, candidates need to have been exposed to interior trim or automotive plastics, as well as having a sound working knowledge of manufacturing processes, including engineering change control, test/validation, DFM, DFA, GD&T, CAD, CAE, and FEA.

This position is commutable from Solihull, Birmingham, Coventry, Rugby, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Telford, Derby and other areas within the Midlands.
