My defence client in Corsham is looking for a self-starting Project Controller who is able to prioritise workload and come in and hit the ground running. The successful person will have prior experience as a Project Controller / Scheduler, ideally within the defence sector.
Rate: £420 p/d Umbrella, inside of IR35
Duration: Initially until 31/03/23 (scope to be extended)
Location: Most remote but some onsite presence will be required (1-2 times per month)
The Role and Duties:
The successful person will join the client’s System Engineering function and support all delivery projects of the SKYNET Programme enabling them to achieve their deliveries. In short, the purpose is to manage complexity, interoperability, technical risk and the flow of decision making.
* Planning and scheduling – Implement and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling.
* Monitoring and reporting – Establish and maintain project controls, keeping the project manager aware of the project status. Prepare project performance reports, presenting statistics and researching new information.
* Stakeholder – Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as lead point of contact for some external parties. Draft and sign-off correspondence.
Systems Engineering experience is desirable for this post as well as an understanding of communication equipment.
