Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer, Southampton, Circa £45,000 per annum + benefits

A market leading organisation is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis to work at their site in Southampton. Working in a high-tech engineering environment the Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving the implementation and improvement of Quality Systems, playing an in integral role in heading business improvement procedures. The successful Quality Engineer will also be responsible for leading the implementation and maintenance of ISO9001.

Other responsibilities include: Performing scheduled internal process audits, implementing a process to drive improvement of supplier performance through proactive supplier interaction, providing support using structured problem-solving tools and techniques, with the aim of delivering improved product quality.

In order to be considered for this position, the successful Quality Engineer must have experience in leading the implementation of quality processes (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 13485). In addition to this, candidates need to have proven experience as a Quality Engineer within an engineering / manufacturing environment, and as such have good knowledge / experience of quality engineering tools and techniques such as 8D, root cause, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, Value Stream Mapping, SPC etc.

It would be advantageous for candidates to have experience / knowledge in any of the following areas; ability to read engineering drawings (Electrical and Mechanical), Customer facing experience, hold a formal qualification i.e. Degree, HND in an Engineering / Science discipline or a closely related subject, planning and conducting audits.

This position is commutable from Southampton, Portsmouth, Fareham, Bournemouth, Eastleigh, Chandlers Ford and other areas within Hampshire, Dorset and the South Coast.
