Senior Product Development Engineer – Hamble – Circa £50,000 + Benefits

A leading, global engineering organisation is seeking to employ a Senior Product Development Engineer within their Hamble based facility, on a permanent basis.

Operating within a low volume environment, the successful candidate will help drive the transformation of a growing engineering function. Supporting the design and implementation of robust and repeatable procedures, policies and systems, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the organisation to achieve its short to medium term goal of process improvement and optimisation coupled with an efficient Standard Operating Procedure. Simultaneously, other responsibilities include the integration of complex Electrical, Mechanical and Software engineering systems into cutting edge products and/or larger applications; and populating relevant verification and certification documentation. The successful Senior Product Development Engineer will also lead and coordinate multi-disciplined engineering teams in line with project timelines and deliverables concerning the design and development of company products to stringent industry standards.

In order to be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have proven experience in product and / or systems integration and / or development. Candidates must also be able to display a sound understanding of Electrical, Mechanical and Software engineering principles alongside product / systems configuration processes and design knowledge. A proven aptitude of process, procedure, or system development is also essential. It would be essential to hold a formal qualification i.e. Degree in an Engineering discipline, as it would be to have an awareness of product standards and compliance i.e. RoHS. REACH. CE etc. It would also be advantageous to have experience of Manufacturing and Process Engineering tools i.e. DFM (Design for Manufacture), FMEA, Six Sigma etc., as it would be to have experience of requirements management tools i.e. DOORS, and project management capabilities.

This opportunity is based in Hamble and is commutable from Southampton, Portsmouth, Fareham, Winchester, Bournemouth, Poole and other locations within the Hampshire and Dorset regions.
