Senior Security Analyst – Didcot – £40,000 to £70,000 DOE – Permanent

We are currently looking for an experienced Security Analyst to join a diverse and growing team of analysts within a SOC. Candidates should be prepared to join a friendly team of professionals in a customer facing role dealing with large public and private entities. Providing top-level technical support for customers across the UK, from multinational entities to small businesses.

Essential Skills:

* Candidates must currently hold or be capable of achieving Security Clearance.
* Prior experience working in a SOC, or as part of a security team
* Experienced in working with SIEM and log monitoring tools
* A self-starter attitude and ability to work independently.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical and abstract issues in a simple and understandable way for non-technical people.
* Experience in working with time sensitive projects and deadlines.
* Experience in guiding/mentoring junior members of the team to support their continued development.

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

* Experience of working with one or more of the following technology providers:

* Microsoft (Azure/O365/MDE/Sentinel),
* Amazon (AWS/Security Hub)
* Oracle (OMS)

* Security and monitoring tools, such as Security Onion, SNORT, Wireshark, or similar
* Network and host based forensics and concepts
* Vulnerability management tools, such as Nessus or similar
* Networking administration including firewalls, switches, and IDS/IPS
* Operating system administration including system hardening, Windows domain setup and maintenance (e.g., WSUS, SCCM, Group Policy, DCE) or previous experience working in an enterprise administration role.
* Relevant security related qualifications, such as GIAC or similar.

Working hours:

Due to the nature of the SOC, there is an expectation that the candidate will work a shift pattern of ‘4 days on, 4 days off’ from 8am to 8pm. One 4 day block every four weeks will consist of night shifts, 8pm-8am. Night shifts and any weekend day shifts will be worked from the comfort of your home.
